OFF-LINE POWER SUPPLY Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

Abstract RU 2171527 C1

FIELD: electrical and power engineering; power supplies for corrosion-preventive devices of oil and gas pipelines, navigation and light beacons, weather stations, monitoring and burglar alarm devices, and the like. SUBSTANCE: power supply built around low-power unit capable of automatically running under field conditions for at least 1-2 years under abruptly changing climatic conditions at temperatures reducing below values specified by manufacturer has power unit incorporating internal-combustion engine with starting gear and generator connected through trickle charger to storage batteries for joint operation, and also master controller connected to storage battery and to control gear of power-unit engine; there is also mobile chamber with external heat-insulation casing; chamber accommodates insulated compartment for master controller and metal supports for mounting storage batteries in a spaced relation to each other, temperature- controller-and-heater unit, and tanks holding changeable heat-absorbing liquid also used as fuel for power-unit engine; tank is provided with filler and drain holes communicating through respective pipelines with additional engine-fuel tank mounted outside the mobile chamber. Filler- hole pipeline is provided with motor-driven pump coupled with temperature controller and provided with intake nozzle; additional tank communicates through pipeline with fuel tank of power-unit engine. EFFECT: reduced fuel consumption and transport charges, enhanced efficiency of power unit. 4 dwg
