FIELD: bearing assemblies of rolling mills, namely bearings lubricated by oil film. SUBSTANCE: bearing unit includes sleeve with cone inner surface arranged along axis in cone portion of roll neck and mounted with possibility of rotation relative to cone portion of roll neck. Sleeve is made by machining in machine tools from cylindrical forged blank whose maximum outer diameter is equal to diameter of cylindrical outer surface of sleeve. At least one separate member not joined with forged blank is secured to sleeve. Said member includes radially protruding outer part engaged with sleeve at axially removing bearing unit from roll neck. EFFECT: lowered cost of bearing unit due to reduced size of forging and less metal losses at working forging in machine tools. 8 cl, 9 dwg
