FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of isolation of valuable chemical products from wood processing waste, namely to method of preparing betulinol from birch bark. Method involves bark milling, separation of bark for birch bark and bast fiber, extraction of birch bark with alcohol, separation of solution followed by removal of solvent. Extraction is carried out with 90-95% ethyl alcohol at 70-75 C. In the process of extraction activated carbon is added in the following weight ratio of components: birch bark, 100 kg; ethyl alcohol, 400- -500 kg; activated carbon, 35-45 kg.
