FIELD: opt-mechanical electronic and other industries, machining products made from ceramic, glass, semiconductor materials, sapphire, quartz and other materials. SUBSTANCE: during the abrasive machining workpieces and, at least, one disk are set in relative motion. The disk is provided with abrasive pallets arranged over the concentric zones, the number of the pallets in each zone being fixed. The number of the concentric zones is chosen to provide the distances between adjacent abrasive pallets and adjoining zones to be equal. A formula is available for determining the number of the pallets in each zone depending on external and internal diameters of the disks, diameter of abrasive pallet, and minimum size of the workpiece. EFFECT: enhanced quality of machining due to minimization of deviation out of the given geometrical shape of the workpiece and uniform wear of the tool. 3 dwg, 1 tbl, 1 ex
