FIELD: non-destructive testing of oil and gas pipe-lines. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to find presence of holes and cavities and their coordinates. Flaw detecting tool has leak-tight segmented body with elastic collars in front and rear parts of body. Instrument unit of flaw detecting tool has assemblage of transmitters anchored on elastic plates arranged in several rows over circumference of body of flaw detecting tool. Each transmitter presents collection of three plates-coats and microassembly. Wall of pipe-line is used as second coat forming electric capacitors together with three plates. Microassembly includes bridge circuit, generator of high-frequency oscillations and phase-sensitive amplifier. EFFECT: increased resolving power and diminished sluggishness of flaw detecting tool. 4 dwg
