METHOD FOR DETERMINATION OF LOCATION OF SATELLITE COMMUNICATION GROUND STATION ACCORDING TO RETRANSMITTED SIGNAL Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

Abstract RU 2172495 C1

FIELD: radio engineering, in particular, methods for determination of location of radio emission sources, applicable in construction of systems for determination of location of satellite communication ground stations. SUBSTANCE: the method consists in reception of a signal from the ground station at the receiving ground station, measurement of Q values of Doppler shift of the signal carrier frequency for the "ground station-satellite-ground receiving station" route in respective time moments ti with spacing Δt, their processing and computation of Q values of Doppler shift of the signal carrier frequency on the basis of processing for the "ground station-satellite" route, memorizing of these Q values and respective time moments ti, grouping in pairs of all probable combinations of bearing bases in the interval of Q values with spacing n = ΔT/Δt, selection of pairs of bases satisfying the conditions of the size and value of the angle between them, and already for each of the selected pair of bases the memorized values of Doppler shift of the carrier frequency signal for the "satellite-ground station" route are integrated in the time interval corresponding to each base, and the location of the ground station is determined, the obtained co-ordinates are averaged, and the result of averaging is determined as the final location of the ground station. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy and reduced cost of the system realizing the method. 8 dwg
