FIELD: polygraphy, applicable as a printing plate for intaglio and/or relief printing, mainly for mass production and simultaneous protection against forgery, for example, of bank notes, credit documents and other securities for subsequent determination of their authenticity by visual inspection. SUBSTANCE: printing plate 1 comprises printing areas made in the functional layer of the article in the form of a system of visually perceived microincisions 2 and/or microprotrusions 3 that form a volumetric protective pattern of the preset configuration. At least on one surface 5,6,7,8 limiting the profile of the printing area (i.e. on the side walls and bottom of incisions 2 or on the side and upper edges of protrusions 3) formed is an additional microrelief of the regular (i.e. varying by the preset, mainly periodic law) relief, which is extensively oriented in longitudinal axis 10 of symmetry of the respective printing area. Height "H" of the profile structures of the mentioned microrelief is selected from the condition of provision of variation of the hue and/or reflecting capacity of the formed ink layer on the print of the securities in mentioned longitudinal axis 10 of this printing area. The mentioned height "H" of the profile structures is selected, as a rule, individually for each printing plate proceeding from the optical properties of the group of dyes used for this plate. Besides, for provision of an additional code protection of the securities obtained by means of considered printing plate 1, it is good practice to make at least part of visually perceived incisions 2 and/or protrusions 3 with a width and/or depth differing from one another.
