FIELD: automotive industry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rear part of car body featuring high energy absorbing properties. Proposed rear part of car body has front cross beam 1 and rear cross beam 2. Front cross beam serves as one of supports for bumper. Heat insulating screen 3 is placed between front cross beam 1 and rear cross beam 2. Screen 3 is arranged under floor panel 4 and is rigidly connected with panel. Reinforcement member 6 directed along body centerline L is installed in central zone of body rear part between front cross beam 1 and rear cross beam 2 opposite to beams. Reinforcement member 6 is placed in tunnel-shaped cavity 18 of heat insulating screen 3 so that at least one end part 21 of reinforcement member is rigidly coupled with rear cross beam 2.
