SUBSTANCE: described is catalyst for polymerization of alpha-olefins, comprising compound of general formula I: wherein X is selected from halogen, n is integer of 2 to 18; R and R* are selected from H, alkyl radicals having from 1 to 5 carbon atoms; M is zirconium provided that in general formula II number of radicals R other than H does not-exceed 2, at least one of two radicals R* is H except for compound which has n=4, R=R*=R=H..
