FIELD: chemistry of polymers. SUBSTANCE: described is catalyst system with increased activity for (co)polymerization of alpha-olefins comprising metallocene type catalyst which is capable of polymerizing olefins without alumoxane and having weak coordination bond. Catalyst comprises component A which is ionic metallocene compound of metal selected from group consisting of group 3-5 transition metals or lanthanides of Periodic Table, and component B is aprotic polar organic compound containing metal atoms; it comprises one heteroatom selected from O,N,P and S and is capable of forming coordination bond expressed by donor number of equal or less than 10 Ccal/mol and dielectric constant of equal or greater than 3. Polymerization method makes it possible to attain higher efficiency with respect to similar method which uses metallocene type catalyst.
