FIELD: organometallic chemistry, polymers. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of synthesis of high-plastic copolymers of ethylenepropylene type (EPM) and high-plastic terpolymers of ethylenepropylene-diene type (EPDM) with propylene content in the range from 15 to 75 wt.-%. Synthesis is performed in the presence of metallocenes of the formula (I): where M is taken among titanium, zirconium, hafnium; X is taken among halogen atom; A is radical of η⁵- indenyl type (Ia) or η⁵- tetrahydroindenyl type (Ib) where radicals R₁ and R₂ can be similar or different each of other and taken among H, aliphatic radical, aryl radical with exception compounds where A means formula (Ia); R₂ is H and R₁ differs from H in positions 3-, 4- and 7-. Additional objects of invention are the following metallocenes: o-xylol-α,α′-bis- -[η⁵-(3- methyl)-4,5,6,7- tetrahydroinden-1-yl] zirconium dichloride, o-xylol α,α′-bis-[η⁵-(3,5,6-trimethyl)-4,5,6,7- tetrahydroinden-1-yl] zirconium dichloride, o-xylol-α,α′-bis- -[η⁵-(3-ethyl)-inden-1-yl] zirconium dichloride, o-xylol- -α,α′-bis-[η⁵-(3-phenyl)-inden-1-yl]zirconium dichloride, o-xylol-α,α′-bis-[η⁵-(3,5,6-trimethyl)- inden-1-yl] zirconium dichloride. Proposed catalytical systems show very high activity in the range from 500 to 10 000 kg of polymer/g of transient metal/h of polymerization.
