FIELD: electrical engineering and measuring equipment, applicable for measurement of moments of inertia of rotors of induction motors. SUBSTANCE: prior to measurement, the motor rotor is magnetized in the braked state with the aid of a DC pulse applied to one of the stator windings. Measurements are taken with the aid of an installation in which one of the stator windings of the induction motor is connected to a DC source, and the two others are connected to each other via series-connected phase-shifting filter and amplifier. As a result of such a connection of the stator windings, the magnetized motor rotor accomplishes undamped vibrations with period T. Then, a standard body with known moment of inertia Jst is fastened on the rotor and such a quantity of current in the first winding is set at which the period of rotor vibrations equals T. The moment of inertia of the induction motor rotor is calculated by formula. The method does not need disassembly of the motor and additional devices for generation of vibrations and fastening of the tested article. EFFECT: simplified procedure. 2 dwg
