FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: one element of a friction couple 1 is loaded with a constant radial force, and the other is brought into oscillatory motion with given frequency and amplitude using an electromechanical system, based on a synchronous motor 2 with an active rotor 3 and two coils 4 and 5 on a stator, one of which (4) is connected to a direct current source 6, and the other (5) to an alternating current source 12. Alternating current i, in the second coil is measured, as well as angular velocity of oscillation of the rotor using a velocity sensor 8, angle of rotation of the rotor φ using an angular sensor 9. The equivalent dissipative coefficient is calculated as a product of constant constructive coefficient of the electric motor k and the ratio of period average T, values of the product of current i, velocity φ and angle of rotation φ, to the period average square velocity, using formula

EFFECT: more accurate determination of equivalent dissipative coefficient of friction couples due to consideration in the oscillation mode of the non-linear relationship between moment of friction and velocity, and between torque of the motor and angle of rotation of the rotor in the whole range of measuring velocity of the motor and angle of rotation.
