FIELD: sewing industry. SUBSTANCE: collar, in particular, shirt collar, has at least one part of fabric and strengthening textile backing joined to said one part. Backing is formed of weft inlay fabric having strengthening and stabilizing threads laid between rows of links in weft direction. Strengthening and stabilizing threads are extending in the direction of larger size of collar, i.e. in neck embracing direction. Method involves connecting strengthening textile backing to collar fabric part (parts). Method provides stable collar dimensions even at repeated care procedures including washing and ironing procedures. EFFECT: simplified structure and manufacture method and improved strength of collar. 12 cl, 4 dwg
