BRAKE HOLDER WITH SECTIONAL SHOES Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: railway transport; freight car brakes. SUBSTANCE: proposed brake holder has equalizer with fitted on two turnable sectional shoes and members for coupling equalizer with brake rigging of undercar bogie in form rectangular hole in its middle part. Seat for mounting brake rigging is made in middle part of equalizer from side of brake shoes. Brake rigging is secured in equalizer by means of bow-shaped cotter. Slots for fitting cotter in equalizer are made between axles of brake shoes and rectangular hole in equalizer. Cotter is made in form of part of circle with constant cross-section. Beads are made on ends of cotter to limit its displacement in slots of equalizer. Cotter is provided with special member in its lower part for fixing the cotter relative to equalizer. Pin fixing the cotter relative to equalizer is installed in equalizer at upper part of cotter. EFFECT: improved reliability and safety of brake system of freight cars, provision of interchangeability with brake holders used on these cars. 5 cl, 4 dwg
