FIELD: shipbuilding; building of air-cavity trimarans to be used as high-speed cargo-and-passenger ferry. SUBSTANCE: trimaran has central hull, superstructure with car hanger, powerplant and propulsors. Central hull is rigidly connected with side hulls in its upper portion by means of bridges. Trimaran is additionally provided with compressed gas source mounted in its hull. Ratio of breadth of center hull of trimaran to draft is more than 4. Bottom is made in form of tunnel which is closed in bow and open in stern. Tunnel is connected with compressed gas source by means of hole and piping system available in fore portion of tunnel. Hinge ramps may be provided in superstructure sides above side hulls. EFFECT: increased speed of trimaran due to reduced friction resistance and heaving motion and loads on trimaran hull at presence of dampening effect of air cavity. 2 cl, 4 dwg
