POLYOLEFIN COMPOSITIONS CAPABLE OF BEING CROSS LINKED Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

Abstract RU 2173324 C2

FIELD: chemistry of polymers. SUBSTANCE: described is bimodal polyolefin composition comprising two olefin polymeric components. Said composition has the following characteristics; total Mn ranges from 6950 to 29900, total Mw ranges from 81000 to 124000, total Mw/Mn>4, wherein Mn1 is average numerical molecular weight of first non-twistable component, Mn2 is average numerical molecular weight of second non-twistable component, A1 and A2 are relative fractions of first and second components, and said polyolefin composition has total density of less than 0.900 g/cubic cm. Also described are products made from said compositions and methods of preparing said compositions which are capable of being processed and have high hardening rate. Said polyolefin compositions capable of being cross linked are useful for manufacturing various products such as coated wires and cables, sealing gaskets and glands; products made of foamed or sponge cross linked polyolefin structures having closed or open cells and/or combination thereof; hollow container, hollow reservoirs, medical devices, and coatings, personal hygiene and health service items; fibers, bands, tubes and hoses, bellows, football boots, gaiters and footwear. EFFECT: improved properties of the composition. 24 cl, 10 dwg
