FIELD: leather cleaning method and compositions. SUBSTANCE: method involves preliminary machine treatment of articles in aqueous solution with following squeezing; basic machine treatment in washing solution containing water and detergent suitable for leather; adding substance for final treatment of articles with following draining of waste solution; rinsing in water and draining waste water; providing final machine treatment in aqueous solution and adding substance for final treatment with following draining of waste solution, squeezing and drying. For preliminary treatment, washing substance and moistener are added into aqueous solution. For preliminary and basic treatment procedures, washing substance is added in an amount of 1.4-2.15 g/l, and for final treatment procedure in an amount of 7.14-8.54 g/l. Preliminary, basic and final treatment procedures are performed at temperature of 27-40 C. After sorting out articles, stains are eliminated. After preliminary treatment procedure, products are cleaned, preferably manually cleaned, with the usage of detergent. After final machine treatment, products are treated by means of special brushes. Machine wet cleaning procedure is performed in drying drums at temperature of 35-70 C for 0.5-1 hour, with following air ventilation and recovering to provide for initial shape of product for 3-4 hours. The leather product is further placed into drying drum for final 20-60 min treatment at temperature of 25-40 C. Detergent contains preparations based on anionic and nonionic surfactants and active fat-free additives and preparation based on aqueous solution of nonionic preparation and fatty acid esters. Detergent for final treatment contains preparations based on natural fat processing product and surfactants, preparation based on aqueous solution of modified uncharged N- menyloldihydroxyethyl carbamide and water at temperature of 65 C.
