FIELD: recovery of radioactive wastes including nuclear-unit slime dehydration and drying. SUBSTANCE: in order to separate liquid component from solid one of medium M tank holding radioactive medium M is set at gage pressure to force liquid component through cylindrical filter; in the process liquid enters as filtrate inner space of filter element and is discharged through filtrate outlet pipe. Medium M is heated with steam and stirred by means of stirring appliance during filtering and dehydration stage for better separation of components. Upon first dehydration or drying procedure medium is rinsed with non-radioactive water and then dehydrated and dried again. Device implementing proposed method has tank 2 that accommodates revolving blade 6 with stirring element 8 as well as filter element 12 rotating about its axis. Filtrate outlet pipe 14 mounted on filter- element cylinder axis communicates with outlet pipeline 16. Compressed-air, water, material, and hot-steam inlet pipelines 18, 19, 20, and 26, respectively, are connected to tank 2. Drain 4 is provided in tank 2 for its emptying. EFFECT: reduced cost for device cleaning and servicing. 10 cl, 1 dwg
