FIELD: leak detection. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to device and method of detection and location of leaks in nuclear technology plant with collector pipe-line which is penetrable for detected substance and is coupled to pump and substance sensor. It is provided that sensor includes detector recording radioactivity of substance, discharge tube linked to detector recording radioactivity is branched off in front of detector in direction of flow. Suction pump is connected in its turn to detector recording radioactivity. When radioactive substance gets close to collector pipe-line and penetrates it then conclusion can be made on point of leak on basis of time moment when radioactive substance reaches detector.
