FIELD: electrochemical cells for portable electrical appliances. SUBSTANCE: liquid electrochemical cell 10 that may be used as primary or rechargeable power supply for miscellaneous midget and portable compact electrical appliances uses wetting electrolyte retaining thin and open flexible configuration thereby preventing gas accumulation during its storage. Cell has three layers of which first layer 14 is insoluble negative electrode, second one 16 is insoluble positive electrode, and third layer 12 is aqueous electrolyte; third layer 12 is placed between first layer 14 and second one 16; it is, essentially, easily moisture absorbing material which makes it possible to maintain open cell 10 in humid condition throughout whole time; it also has electrically active soluble material intended to attain desired ionic conduction while water-soluble polymer serves to ensure desired viscosity for imparting adhesive property to first layer 14 and for sticking second layer 16 to first one 14. Electrochemical cell is proposed to be manufactured using appropriate printed-circuit technology. EFFECT: enhanced reliability, reduced size of cell. 37 cl, 5 dwg
