FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: immersion cup has vertical tube communicating at its upper part with ladle and at its lower part with flat distributing part (diffuser). The latter is connected with tube through transition portion. Diffuser side walls are facing toward narrow sides of crystallizer and diverge downward at an angle α equal to or less than 7.5 deg to vertical axis. Diffuser has two channels defined by dissector. Outlet openings of channels are positioned at lower end of diffuser, below bath liquid metal surface. Upper section area of diffuser is less than vertical tube section area. Lower end of dissector is positioned at the level of outlet openings and upper end at the level of upper narrower section of diffuser. Dissector walls diverge from its upper end to the zone of maximum thickness and are narrowing relative to narrow sides of crystallizer at an angle β equal to or less than 7.5 deg to vertical axis. EFFECT: increased efficiency by reduced turbulization and vortex of liquid metal flow at outlet end and improved quality of end product. 7 cl, 3 dwg
