FIELD: metallurgy, namely mold for continuous casting of steel ingots. SUBSTANCE: mold designed for casting steel ingots with thickness in range 50 -120 mm includes inner part having two large contact surfaces. Each surface has concave or rectilinear central zone in its horizontal cross section; both zones are arranged symmetrically one relative to another and they adjoin by their lateral sides to narrow contact surfaces outside the whole width of concave-convex surfaces parallel to opposite portions of large contact surfaces, possibly except rectilinear central portion. Relation of radiuses of concave surface and convex surface are in range 0.6 - 1.4. Preferably radiuses of those surfaces are the same in each horizontal cross section of mold and they increase downwards. Depth of concave surface decreases downwards and it may be variable, but preferably gradually decreases along the whole length of mold; its final depth near zone of discharging opening is equal to 5 mm or less. EFFECT: enhanced quality of ingot surface due to uniform cooling of it. 11 cl, 5 dwg
