FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: plant designed, mainly for high-speed casting of small-thickness slabs includes mold 1 supplied by means of immersing nozzle 2 and connected with vibrator 3 having hydraulic servodrive. In description of invention relations are given for determining contours and mutual arrangement of mold and immersing nozzle, namely: (A1 : S1)/(A2 : S2)= 0.9 - 1.1, preferably A1 : S1 = A2 : S2, where A1 is surface area restricted by immersible nozzle and wide sides of mold and corresponding to mean portion of surface of horizontal cross section of mold at level of meniscus; A2 is area of remaining surface of horizontal cross section of mold at level of meniscus; S1, S2 is total sums of length values of portions of mold periphery corresponding to each of surface areas. At least in horizontal cross section of mold at level of meniscus distance between nozzle and copper plates of mold is kept constant. EFFECT: enhanced quality of slab surface, improved reliability of continuous casting process, increased useful life period of plant. 7 cl, 8 dwg
