FIELD: railway transport; testing facilities. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for checking wheel-to-rail friction coefficient. Said device has vertical loading mechanism 1 with strain gauges 7, 8 secured by one end on rail vehicle frame 5. U-shaped frame with roller 9 is installed on other end of mechanism. Roller 9 engaging with surface of wheel 10 is installed on axle for rotation in legs of U-shaped frame. The device is furnished also with flexible plate 19 with strain gauges, speed transmitter 22 installed on axle of roller 9, friction clutch with electromagnetic coil 15 and friction disc 16 installed on axle of roller 9 for rotation together with axle. Coil 15, in its turn, interacts through lever 17 with flexible plate strain gauges. EFFECT: increased accuracy of measurement, reduced wear of roller. 4 dwg
