FIELD: mechanical engineering; ignition systems of internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: modular electronic ignition system is designed for internal combustion engines. System uses pickups operating on principle of Hall-effect device and provided with pawl. Two permanent magnets are secured on element made of iron-free material and mounted on camshaft which passes through oil seal installed in cover of ignition timing control unit. Module of sensitive elements has pickups operating as Hall-effect devices. Pickups are spaced circumferentially being arranged around element with permanent magnets. Pickups reveal presence of magnetic field when magnets pass near pickups operating on principle of Hall-effect devices. Operation time delay is adjusted by changing angular distance through which magnets are displaced relative to each other. Output signals of Hall-effect devices energize integrated circuits providing switching on of ignition coil at primary winding side. EFFECT: cheap and simple device shielding electromagnetic interferences, easy to demount and replace system elements. 17 cl, 6 dwg
