FIELD: optoelectronic instrument engineering, applicable in criminal law for ballistic examinations of firearm. SUBSTANCE: the device has a TV camera with a charge bound-matrix, analog-to-digital converter and a computer, mechanisms for vertical scanning, lens rotation and focusing alignment, as well as illuminants made in the form of areal quick-response wide-aperture sources of scattered light, and an objective lens holder made in the form of a detachable assembly provided with guides and a gear-type half-coupling with a center hole for conjugation with the rotation drive. Installed on the objective lens holder is a right-angle prism or mirror for fracture of the optical axis through 90 deg., as well as a movable carriage provided with a spring clamp and an eccentric for installation of the cartridge case and integrated with the gear- type half-coupling through a rack- and-gear drive, and the illuminants are installed concentrically around the optical axis perpendicular to the prism inlet face and can be switched on in any combinations.
