SUBSTANCE: display incorporating insulating substrate and autoemission cell with phosphor-covered electron collectors has its insulating substrate made of piezoelectric material and autoemission cells functioning as surface-acoustic-wave resonators. At least two autoemission cells differ in resonance frequency. Autoemission cells of same resonance frequency are grouped so that applying control signal whose frequency coincides with resonance frequency of cell ensures display of data image such as alphabet character.
