FIELD: electrical and electromechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method used in winding manufacture and repairs for electrical machines, transformers, and reactors includes dipping windings in bath filled with insulating compound, applying dc electric field across winding insulation, and measuring electric capacitance of windings; according to invention windings are held vertically to insulating compound surface and immersed gradually at dipping rate of 2-10 mm/h this procedure being followed by holding windings in mentioned compound for 30-120 min. Electric capacitance is measured upon terminating winding impregnation process. EFFECT: augmented drying process resulting in improved impregnation quality and reduced time. 1 tbl
