DYNAMIC APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING TIME OF PROTECTIVE EFFECT OF GAS MASK BOXES AND RESPIRATORS Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: analytical chemistry. SUBSTANCE: apparatus for determining time of protective action of gas mask boxes and respirators from mercury vapors has air preparing unit, psychrometer, flowmeter, thermostat with mercury evaporator, thermometer, valve with corrugated pipe and mercury vapor absorber, indicator and absorption reservoir, with all mentioned parts of apparatus being connected in series. Apparatus is further equipped with corrugated pipe having mercury vapor sorbent, two flowmeters, and differential manometer, which are arranged in series between mercury evaporator and indicator. First flowmeter is positioned upstream of sample to be tested and corrugated pipe with second flowmeter is arranged downstream of sample to be tested. Apparatus allows sample to be taken downstream of article to be tested for determining amounts of mercury aerosol passed through filter. EFFECT: increased efficiency and simplified construction. 1 dwg
