FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: cloth roll has core and receptacle sleeves arranged inside core, device for imparting progressive motion to roll in accumulator without rolling it. This device has rollers arranged at both ends of core and resting upon accumulator guides during stacking of cloth rolls. Rollers are mounted for rotation about shafts pivotally fixed in receptacle sleeves so as to be readily dismantled. To provide for oriented positioning of cloth roll on guides, rollers are equipped with profiled groove running around their supporting surface. To reduce the effect of nonparallelity of guides upon free rolling of rollers, at least one roller is mounted on shaft for free movement lengthwise of this shaft or it is alternatively provided with smooth supporting surface. To stack cloth rolls of different sizes, roller shafts are mounted in receptacle sleeves for movement in lengthwise direction. Quick and ready dismantling of shafts is effected due to the usage of attachment made in the form of power member, for example, curved leaf spring cooperating with receptacle sleeve. Roll of such construction may be used in apparatuses for forming cloth rolls which are adapted for further stacking in accumulator. Cloth, paper, film or other like materials may be wound onto rolls, with upper layers of roll being prevented from deformation.
