FIELD: textile engineering. SUBSTANCE: loom has heddle gap mechanism equipped with warp thread charging members and laying mechanism with reed. Warp thread charging members are formed as rods with openings and arranged in equally spaced relation on horizontal movable planks of gap forming mechanism frame. Planks are moved transverse to loom by leverage system equipped with program control unit. Reed is made in the form of comb rigidly fixed on lay for horizontal, rocking and reciprocating motion. Lay is kinematically connected with one of movable planks of gap-forming mechanism and with lay drive mechanism. Loom of such construction allows fabrics with improved tensile, tear and wear strength and increased air-permeability to be manufactured.
