FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: benzene is purified from thiophene by treatment with sulfuric acid in amount of 0.5-1 wt.% calculated for benzene in the presence of diene hydrocarbons at molar ratio thereof to thiophene of 0.80-1.0, water in amount of 0.002-0.005 wt.% calculated for benzene and catalyst of interphase transfer of alkyl- and aryl-alkyl substituted amines. EFFECT: smaller amount of sulfuric acid, lower losses of benzene during purification and smaller amount of waste. 2 cl, 1 tbl
