FIELD: petrochemical industry, more particularly purification of benzene. SUBSTANCE: product containing 95-96 wt.% of benzene by azotropic rectification is purified using ethyl and methyl alcohols as separating agent and hydropurified using 4-6 moles of hydrogen per 100 moles of benzene by azeotropic rectification with methyl alcohol, benzene purified by rectification comprises said impurities in amount from 0.12-0.24 wt.% and is used as stock in petrochemical synthesis. EFFECT: reduced losses of benzene and lower power consumption of purification process. 3 dwg, 4 ex, 3 dwg
