FIELD: synthesis of alkylphenols. SUBSTANCE: described is method of synthesis of alkylphenols of general formula: wherein R is tertiary CnH2n+1C alkylphenols, n is 4-8, 10 and secondary C10H21 alkylphenols. Process is carried out by heating mixture of phenol and corresponding alcohol in the presence of 85% phosphoric acid catalyst original mixture consisting of phenol, alcohol and phosphoric acid at 1:2:2 molar ratio is heated at temperature of 155-190 C for 1 h, thus increasing process rate and increasing yield of reaction products.
