FEEDER FOR ALUMINIUM CELLS WITH TOP CURRENT SUPPLY Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: production of aluminium from cryolite-alumina melts, possibly automatic supply of additives and alumina to cells. SUBSTANCE: feeder includes at least one hopper for loose materials, metering device having casing with front wall and aerating box with gas-permeable member forming together with front wall of casing discharging window; unit for generating pneumatic control pulses. Feeder is provided with chamber mounted at side of discharging window. Drift is introduced through roof of said chamber and it is mounted fluid-tightly with possibility of reciprocation motion. Lower part of chamber has means for gas-tight joining with movable section of gas-collecting bell. Unit-doze regulator is arranged between front wall of casing of metering device and discharging window. Regulator is in the form of shutter mounted by cantilever fashion on axle with possibility of rotation. Free end of shutter is placed with gap and it is turned to gas-permeable member. Axle has handle provided with stop and indicator of shutter rotation angle. Invention provides protection of metering devices against resinous sublimated matters. EFFECT: enhanced comfort at using, effective correction of doze of raw material for each metering device, fluid-tightness of system. 5 cl, 1 dwg
