Abstract RU 2174697 C1

FIELD: fiber-optical communication. SUBSTANCE: invention is employed in fiber-optical communication lines as switch and logic element. Optical bistable element has light guide with core made of non-linear optical material, source of pumping radiation and signal radiation source matched correspondingly to input and output of light guide. Element of optical decoupling are positioned between butts of light guide and correspondingly source of pumping radiation and signal radiation source. Powers of pumping radiation and signal radiation and geometrical dimensions of light guide are chosen from conditions determined by threshold power of stimulated Brillouin scattering. Given element makes it feasible to diminish sensitivity of outside effects and secures possibility of radiation switching in wide spectral range. EFFECT: expanded application field. 5 cl, 2 dwg
