FIELD: measurements.
SUBSTANCE: when laser radiation passes through the circuit of the device, a spectrally shifted simulated Brillowin scattering is formed in the latter, which is directed to the connected laser-interferometric instrument system through the input circulator of the device, where the frequency beat of the laser within the system and frequencies of simulated Brillowin scattering are observed on the oscilloscope. The scheme of the device implements multiple passage of laser radiation through the used coils of optical fibre, which makes it possible to obtain simulated Brillowin scattering effects of higher orders. In the scheme of the device, all possible sources of additional optical losses are excluded and the optical fibre coils are pumped from two ends, which minimizes losses.
EFFECT: providing the ability to calibrate/verify laser-interferometric instrument systems as a means of measuring speed by measuring the spectral shift of the signal reflected back due to the effect of stimulated Mandelstam-Brillouin scattering in an optical fibre, and providing the possibility of expanding the range of recorded ultrasonic wave velocities.
