FIELD: sportive equipment. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has base made in the form of support, vertical column mounted on base, shaft with truncated cone-shaped part equipped with depressions on outer surface for receiving first pulling cable, and load applying device including drum, weight mounted on shaft and joined to drum by second cable. Shaft part is formed as truncated cone and as body of rotation of rectangular trapezium relative to side, as well as to smaller trapezium base, having length much lesser than that of larger end of trapezium. Pulling cable fastening device is fixed to mentioned shaft part. Pulling cable is wound onto surface of curved groove made in the form of Archimedes spiral. Load applying device has pulley and fixed sheave attached to additional bracket mounted in upper part of column. Bracket is also adapted for carrying second cable attachment device. Second cable is not attached to drum and is running around fixed sheave and pulley which is joined to rod extending through weight members sliding in vertical plane along guides secured onto horizontal support and bracket. Weight members are providing initial loading. Apparatus of such construction reduces development of weight inertia.
