FIELD: mechanical engineering; welding. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in arc welding with consumable and non-consumable electrodes for making welded structures in different industries. Welding transformer has three windings, namely: primary, secondary and additional ones. Primary winding is connected to mains voltage. Antiparallel thyristors are placed in series in primary winding circuit. Secondary winding is connected with arc gap. Capacitor is connected in parallel with additional winding. EFFECT: prevention of metal sputtering, provision of safe RMS value of no-load voltage equal to 12 V. 1 dwg
