FIELD: railway transport; berth control devices. SUBSTANCE: proposed device is used to set berths in position for sleeping at night by control of unlocking and fixing mechanism and to set berths if position in which they occupy little place in daytime and fixing the berths in this position. Device consists of at least one turning mechanism with cross axle 52 passing out of gravity center of berth, preferably close to head part. Device made for acting onto cross axle provides holding larger part of berth projecting into compartment when berth is used for sleeping at night without additional support and it has stops for berth when it is hinged down at night. Device has two turning mechanism for berths 1, 2 arranged one over the other which can be controlled simultaneously by common berth control handle 3.
