FIELD: plasma spraying of protective coatings, possibly for applying wear resistant coating onto teeth of excavator bucket. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes housing, part tilter having mechanism for controlling horizontal position of sprayed face. Said mechanism is in the form of crank-slide mechanism having screw for regulating amplitude of slide motion and head (plasmatron) having mechanism for lengthwise reciprocation motion also being in the form of crank-slide mechanism having screw for regulating amplitude of slide strip motion, mechanism for crosswise reciprocation motion and manual-control mechanism for vertical motion. Tilter is joined with mechanism for lengthwise reciprocation motion of head by means of electromechanical connection unit having limit switches for moving-arresting tilter. Mechanism for crosswise reciprocation motion of head is joined with counter for counting number of its cross movements. EFFECT: enlarged manufacturing possibilities of method. 3 cl, 5 dwg
