FIELD: coatings.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an apparatus for applying functional coatings onto the surfaces of parts of various configurations. A plasma torch is installed, configured to rotate in two perpendicular projections of two-coordinate planes according to the preset program. A data input unit, a computer numerical control system, and a control unit are connected in series. Also connected in series are a part surface recording unit, a surface analysis unit, and a data correlation unit. The output of the data correlation unit is connected with the second input of the computer numerical control system, and the second output of the data input unit is connected with the second input of the data correlation unit. The data input unit, the computer numerical control system, and the control unit of the plasma torch, the longitudinal reciprocating motion mechanism and the transverse reciprocating motion mechanism of the plasma torch, the vertical movement mechanism, the manipulator and the rotation mechanism thereof are connected in series. The part surface recording unit, the part surface analysis unit, and the data correlation unit, the output whereof is connected with the second input of the computer numerical control system, are connected in series, and the second output of the data input unit is connected with the second input of the data correlation unit. In the unit, at the time of application of composite materials onto the surface of the part, high accuracy of movement of the main kinematic assemblies of the unit is achieved, in particular, highly precise movement of the plasma torch relative to the surface of the workpiece is ensured.
