FIELD: nuclear fuel treatment. SUBSTANCE: polished pellets are placed in glove box and exposed to laser beam; this exposure is accompanied by laser shock effect. Then pellet being treated is blown down with gas flow and products of dust disintegration are sucked out. Dust-removal device has laser-beam source 1 communicating with glove box 2, reflecting mirrors 5, and mechanism 19 for setting pellets in motion relative to laser beam. Device incorporates suction system for removing dust disintegration products from pellet surfaces which is provided with holes 15 and 17 for carrier gas admission and suction, respectively. EFFECT: enhanced speed of dust removal and operating efficiency without degrading pellets. 23 cl, 5 dwg
