FIELD: acceleration engineering. SUBSTANCE: accelerator has power system, magnetic coil, vacuum chamber, focusing system, accelerating electrodes, feeding system for working medium being accelerated, at least one capacitor, and high-voltage generator incorporating device responsible for charge transfer. Accelerator also has separate conductor accommodating source of working medium being accelerated; vacuum chamber has walls made of insulating material in the form of tubes and accommodates device holding accelerator components in suspended position; mentioned holding device has at least one insulating cable made inside at least one tube for being suspended inside chamber so that it does not contact vacuum-chamber walls at any point except for that at which its end is joined to chamber; device responsible for charge transfer has at least one outer capacitor and bank of series- connected inner capacitors placed inside vacuum chamber.
