SOOT FILTER Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering; exhaust systems of internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: invention is aimed at reduction of content of soot and other products of incomplete combustion of fuel in exhaust gases. Said filter has housing with inlet and outlet branch pipes, solid particles trap and perforated rods poured with catalyst solution and coated with filtering cloth. Filter is furnished with partition arranged between rods and outlet branch pipe square to exhaust gas flow in which holes are made. Rods are directed opposite to exhaust gas flow and they close by their bases the holes in partition. Filtering material coating the rods is located on way of exhaust gases between solid particles trap and rods. EFFECT: reduced consumption of fuel, increased service life of filter. 1 dwg
