FIELD: metallurgy of noble metals, more particularly affinage of ruthenium. SUBSTANCE: method comprises dissolving ammonium pentachlorinitroso ruthenate, reprecipitating ruthenium from solution in the form of sodium tetranitrohydroxynitroso ruthenate, separating precipitate, washing thereof with water at room temperature at L:5 ratio of 0.3-1.4, dissolving washed salt and preparing once again ammonium pentachlorinitroso ruthenate of higher purity. Method makes it possible to intensify preparation of final ruthenium salt and improve quality thereof. EFFECT: more efficient purification method. 2 ex, 2 tbl
