FIELD: hydrometallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the hydrometallurgy of precious metals, and in particular to a method for purifying a rhodium solution from impurities. A method for purifying a rhodium solution from impurities includes evaporating the initial rhodium chloride solution until the rhodium concentration in the solution reaches more than 60 g/l, oxidizing the solution, extracting impurities of platinum group metals with tributyl phosphate and reextracting them with a hydrochloric acid solution, characterized in that ammonium chloride is added to the rhodium solution at the rate of 1.5-2.5 kg per 1 kg of the sum of platinum, palladium and iridium (Pt+Pd+Ir) in solution, the resulting precipitate is separated from the solution, boiled in a solution of hydrochloric acid with a concentration of more than 180 g/l HCl and sent for the extraction of platinum group metals.
EFFECT: expanding the range of content of impurities of platinum, palladium, iridium in rhodium solutions supplied to extraction purification, which also leads to a reduction in the duration of refining of platinum group metals without reducing the quality of extraction purification.
