FIELD: spectrum analysis, applicable for analysis of current-conducting materials without preliminary mechanical sample preparation. SUBSTANCE: the device has a body with a discharge chamber, having holes for supply and discharge of gases, electrode-mounted diaphragm with holes carrying the electrode serving as the check specimen, annular gas- distributing chamber, taper hole for supply of stabilizing gas made in the form of an annular taper slot located between the body and the diaphragm, provided with a calibrated gasket, and a light-emitting diode positioned in one of the windows of the body, the upper section of the electrode-mounted diaphragm is made as a current-conducting one, and the lower section - as a dielectric one. The lower section - as a dielectric one. The lower section of the body is made as a current-gas-supplying one, and in the upper section of the body the slope of the generating line at the vertex of the tapered surface is made higher than 85 deg. relative to the device center line. The body lower section and the counter- electrode are provided with air-cooling radiators. EFFECT: reduced power of are discharge without reduction of analytical potentialities of the device with transfer of it to air cooling. 3 cl, 3 dwg
