FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for contactless high-precision test and control over alternating and direct current, it can be used specifically in design of digital current pickups. In correspondence with invention four windings are put on ferromagnetic core: primary winding with measured current, second winding of coarse compensation with discretely changing current, third winding of precise compensation with high-frequency stepped rising-decreasing saw-toothed current and fourth winding is signal which generates signal pulses used to determine automatically sign and value of measured current in additional code by algorithm loaded into microprocessor controller of pickup. Device has above-mentioned ferromagnetic core with windings, amplifier-former of signal pulses, microprocessor controller, reversible counter, two switches, clock pulse generator, two decoders, two call-talk converters, two RS flip-flops, two JKRS flip-flops, two multidigit keys, register controlling coarse compensation current, output register and some other components properly connected to achieve increased measurement precision. EFFECT: increased precision of measurement of electric currents, generation of value of currents measured without contact in digital form convenient for storage, processing and transmission by present- day computer systems. 2 cl, 5 dwg
